Boston On Your Own

Registration starts August 1st

When: September 18, 2021

Day: Saturday 

Depart: Government Center Lobby at 7:00AM 

Return: Government Center Lobby at 7:00PM 

Fee: $52.00 per person for residents 

Description: Come enjoy a Spring day in beautiful Boston with your family or friends. We will drop you off at Quincy Market and you will have over 6 hours to enjoy the sights, shopping and dining.

Spring Softball

Stamford Recreation organizes several coed and mens’ summer Adult Softball Leagues. Depending on the league games are played either in the weekday evenings or Sunday afternoons. Games are played at fields in several locations in Stamford. Leagues are available for various levels as well as for industrial (corporate) teams.

Registration is for TEAMS only!

(We do not place individuals on teams.)

Team Application/Forfeit form are due March 5. Payment/Rosters are due on or before March 19. Season begins Friday, April 16.

Umpire Fees & Evaluations
Umpire Fees:
·         The fee for umpires for the 2020 Summer Softball Season is $35 per team, per game.
·         We schedule each team to play 12 games, plus the playoffs (1-4 more games).
·         Each umpire must be paid cash before the start of each game.
·         The umpire will collect the fee before the game begins.
·         It is the manager’s responsibility to have the correct amount of money to pay the umpire.
·         Please be advised that the umpire will not be expected to make change.
·         If a receipt is needed, please bring a receipt of your choosing to the field for the umpire to sign.
 
  Umpire Evaluations Please complete the online evaluation to assess the Stamford Recreation umpires at any time during the season.

From music and story time, to STEM and art activities, Stamford Recreation offers a variety of stimulating programming for children ages 1-4. Our exceptional preschool staff are experts in early childhood development and understand how to help each child learn and grow!

It’s full STEM/STEAM ahead in this hands on class. We will explore something new every week-while applying simple scientific aspects that children can relate to. We will have a lot of fun with simple experiments and hands on exploring. The children will be allowed to help mix -stir and possibly EXPLODE our experiments! We will also offer art projects along with science. Themes may include dinosaurs, magnets, volcanoes, hibernation, space and more! A caregiver and me class.

Martin Luther King Day Activity Club!

Schools are closed and you need to work, look no further as we offer his one day program filled with gym games, arts and crafts, board games, outside activities (Weather permit) and more. Campers should bring a bagged lunch and we will supply an afternoon snack. Max of 50 students.

Junior Engineering Camp!

If you have a learner who likes building things and figuring out how things work, they will love this class. Join us as we explore, investigate, & solve problems while we learn about the building blocks of engineering- simple machines. Students will work through building models that demonstrate mechanical and physical engineering. Learning projects may include: mini mechanical concept models, a moving dragon, scale, clown, crane, car, scale, fan, merry-go-round. No Lego’s will be taken home. Please bring a lunch and a snack. Extended care available.
