Teams
interested in joining the City of Stamford Adult
Softball League should:
1. Fill
out the
Application and fax it to 977-5504 or email it
to
mkramer@ci.stamford.ct.us
- Once
we receive the packet, we will add you to our
mailing list for 2008 and you will receive all the
paperwork we send to the other Managers.
2.
Attend the Mandatory Softball Meeting for NEW teams.
Meeting typically takes place in Late February or
early March. Teams that attend the meeting
have a better opportunity of getting into the
league. We have been known to have a
lottery in the past and don't guarantee acceptance
into the league.
We have
several options for NEW teams:
1. Open Divisions: Teams consist of
Stamford residents and up to 3 non-residents.
We have a Men's Division, Coed Division and
Women's Division.
2. Industrial Divisions: Teams consist
of Stamford based companies and it's employee's.
We have both Men's and Coed Divisions
There is a total of 220 teams in Stamford and each
Division has several leagues. For Example,
Men's A, Men's B, Men's C and Men's D. Men's A
is typically the most competitive and has the most
skilled teams. Men's D is typically for newer
teams or teams that may not be as skilled as some of
the higher divisions yet are more for recreational
play.
2008 League
Fees:
1. League Entry Fee: $585 for weekday
leagues/ $545 for Sunday leagues.
2. Umpire Fee: $25/game. Teams
play 12-15 games plus playoffs.
3. Softball Fee: $5/game. Teams
are responsible to provide one NEW ball per game.
We have local vendors that provide the balls at the
Managers Meetings.
Typically a
team will pay approximately $900-$950 to play in the
league.
